Abstract:

Females, by handling multiple responsibilities are comparatively more prone to high stress & an unbalanced life style. The study reveals whether High/Low EQ has any impact upon the satisfaction level of females. Also, the research has focus on the impact of demographic traits on the EQ level of females with special focus on age & marital status. For analyzing the EI level practical EQ test based on the five-competency model of Daniel Goleman has been applied. Life satisfaction has been tested using Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). Data collection is done on the basis of convenience sampling technique. Analysis & interpretation of the data is done with the help of descriptive statistical tools like mean, standard deviation & product moment correlation. Findings of the research show that there is a moderate but positive relationship between emotional intelligence of females & their life satisfaction. Also age does not impact EI whereas Occupation has a high tendency to affect EI of females. The present study is primarily an attempt to understand the relation between the two as it is very crucial for women of today to achieve personal & professional goals. The study recommended that affect of EI should also be considered upon different demographic areas & how it relates to the performance of a female.
