Abstract:
Applications of telehealth technologies have largely focused on management of chronic illnesses. However, the use of telehealth for preventative healthcare is becoming increasingly relevant as the aging population rapidly increases. In this paper we draw correlations between Quantified Self enthusiasts and those looking to monitor personal data for preventative healthcare. From this relation, we leverage aspects of the Quantified Self in order to define design requirements for preventative telehealth tools and present a telehealth system designed to aid prevention of age-related vision loss.
